“What? The train got cancelled twice?! Back to the van!”

That was the beginning of our adventure, when we were at the GO train station waiting for the train to arrive. We were an hour early for the train as well, but the train got cancelled TWICE for engine problems! The one time we decided to use the GO train, it gets cancelled twice in a row! Ouch. So what did we do then? We went to yet another station to catch the GO bus. That was quite a hectic drive. Between cursing at other drivers we were laughing our heads off since my bro wanted to drive downtown in the first place and we would have probably made it there and been in the ACC by the time we reached the second GO station! So we were out in the cold waiting for a bus that would inevitably make us late for the opening tip and starting line-ups for sure.

After relaxing on the GO bus for the trip to the ACC we rushed out in the cold, jumped some construction fences, passed some scalpers, and went searching for the box office. While my mom was picking up the tickets my bro and I chilled out away from the crowd.

After getting our tickets we made our way to our seats which were close to the entrance and not bad seats at all. Here’s where the game was at when we got there:

After some good gameplay, some nice shots, and bad calls it was halftime.

This is when the action really started to pick up. The lead must have exchanged hands at least five times in the second half. It was great to see the difference in the level of play between the teams in the East and the teams in the West. Just simple inbound plays showed the difference in discipline and execution.

And now the good news: “Raptors win! Raptors win! Raptors win!” -Chuck Swirsky
The game went down to the wire and it was a great game! At times there were some shaky spots like when Garnett started getting hot and making three unanswered field goals, but the Raptors kept their composure and made some crucial plays when they needed it.

So after rushing out back to the street amongst the beggars and crowd we managed to catch our GO bus back home just in time. It was an awfully quiet ride home as the majority of GO bus rides are in my experience, and we were back to the GO station before we knew it.

On the drive home there were much more laughs, teasing, and commentary of the game that just transpired. Lots of fun and good times to remember on the ride home. Here are a few photos of the gas station we stopped off at to fill up and saw more ridiculous B-town drivers.

Overall, it was a very fun night despite the slow start at the GO train station. I do hope I can do that again sometime and maybe in the platinum section next time! Then I could get close-up shots of the Raptors Dance Pack and the players. How sweet would that be!

Here’s an update on the lottery tickets I received:
- Total earnings of $4
Not bad for my first set of lottery scratch cards. It was quite fun scratchign them until my brother reminded me of the “triangle” rule. Whenever you scratch away the place with the code sequence of characters and numbers and you see one or more triangles, it means you got a dud. If there are no triangles, your card is a winner for some unspecified amount until you play the card and find out exactly how much you won.
What a bummer to find out that an entire scratch card plays you when you think you’re actually playing the card. A most definite rude awakening.

Now onto the second part of my fun and games for the holiday season: Raptors tickets!
I’m going to see the Timberwolves vs. Raptors at the ACC tonight with my brother and mom. It’s our Xmas present from our mom. My brother finally gets to see Kevin Garnett in action. This will definitely be a treat! Odd however, that we might be cheering on the T-wolves instead of the Raptors just because of Garnett. Nevertheless I wish the Raptors the best since they don’t call Garnett “the big ticket” for no reason.
I’ll also be carrying along my trusty K790 so I’ll try and take as many photos on the way to the game, at the game, and on the way back since we’ll be taking the ever so exciting GO train to the game. (sarcasm indeed)

Maybe you might even see me on TV?! Check it out tonight at 7PM EST on The Score which is channel 53 in some areas.

Exquisite. Insightful. Maniacal.

These are but a few words that can describe the movie I saw today. Curse of the Golden Flower was an absolutely unexpected film. There were so many twists, revelations, and questions but somehow I left satisfied. It was as if the movie was a symbol of neutrality and balance. The perfect balance of yin and yang.

I’m not here to spoil the movie for you, but I do encourage you to see the movie in the closest theatre that’s showing it. Just don’t expect a Hollywood plot. The few action sequences are breath-taking, especially the first, and the acting is great with subtle emotions and an irresistable empathy for the characters you will come to know.

So there’s my little review of the latest product of Asia to hit the big screens of North America. I hope you make an effort to see this film while it’s still out at the big screens. Enjoy.

Here comes the seasons greetings and happy holidays. To kick it off my best friend Phil gave me a chance to win a bunch of money. When I get a chance to scratch it all I’ll report the results.

Lottery Tix!!! Thanks Phil!

And as an added note, my exams went pretty well and here’s a photo I took of one of many unique YorkU hallways.

Well, after some time and effort, here’s the product. This signals the beginning of my journey to explore my potential in creativity and technical design. It will be interesting, challenging, and hopefully rewarding, but more importantly it will be a search to find my technical self and my place in the technical world.
Recently I also got my hands on a Sony Ericsson K790 camera phone so expect to see some beautiful photos of places I go, places I see, and anything else that my camera can capture.
So here’s the beginning, and hopefully not the beginning of the end. I hope you enjoy what’s to come and I will try to keep the content coming as often as possible.
P.S. Happy Holidays.
