Just thought I’d take the opportunity to wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Wishing you all the prosperity, health, and fortune in the new year.
Good luck! And when in doubt tell yourself “maybe.”
First thing this morning I checked the UFC 66 results and low and behold, Liddell knocked out Ortiz in the third round. I was more surprised that it went all the way to three rounds. That’s just an example of how well conditioned Ortiz was and how much farther he has come since he last fought Liddell and lost. Soon after I checked around to see if anyone has posted the fight online as yet and I was not disappointed. Someone had posted the whole fight on Google Video, which surprised me since I expected it first on YouTube. I was surprised at how the knockout occurred since Ortiz still looked like he was defending himself and not taking too much damage but the referee stopped the fight regardless. So Liddell defended his title once again and I don’t see anyone taking his belt anytime soon since his biggest enemy now is his age. I would be more than happy to see Ortiz give it another shot since he can only get better. I have to give props to Ortiz since he trained so hard for the past year and spent about ten months at seven thousand feet above sea level training six days a week. Well either way, it was a good fight and both fighters deserved what they received.
I wonder how many people made the same New Year’s resolution like last year of shedding the pounds. Health has become a prominent topic in the news and is a popular topic among everyone regardless of age. Maybe all those news reports and research dollars have started to take a more visible effect. I say “FINALLY!” We’ve all seen those unhealthy kids on the news or in person and we all know it will get even more serious as those kids get older. At least now we have the information readily available to set an example so that we can be around longer for our children and so our children can enjoy their own children for as long as possible. Exercise, eat healthy, and keep drinking that clear stuff we call water. It’s good for you.
Well the title says it all for today. Not much happening and not much to do. New Year’s eve is coming up and as people flock to the downtown party I’ll most likely be living it up at home trying to not miss the countdown which I have missed for the past few years. There’s always something that distracts me at the wrong time so I miss the countdown even after I tell myself that I will be around for the big 3-2-1. I did want to go do something fun for New Year’s but I think I would benefit more from just enjoying the time off.
Tonight is going to be quite an exciting night for those who like their pay-per-view and UFC bouts. Liddell vs. Ortiz 2. It has been talked about, documented, and bet on and no matter who you think is better, I still believe Chuck Liddell is the better man. Well we’ll have to see how this fight goes and for those of you who are patient enough to see the fight in a few days, check it out on YouTube since someone is bound to upload it before adhering to copyright laws.
Feel free to leave comments and New Year’s resolutions. I’m even welcoming flaming for going for Liddell over Ortiz.
Today was not the most exciting day of my break, but the good news is that I finally received my 1GB micro memory card from eBay for my K790. This means that I have huge amounts of space for pictures AND all my mp3’s for when I’m GO traveling to and from York. Now I can bring along the voices of Ayumi Hamasaki and all my other favourite artists including DJs with me wherever I go. With the help of my Bluetooth stereo headphones I’ll be tranced, mellowed, and hypnotized to my favourite tunes and melodies.
Now onto the disordered part of my day; the traffic, crowds, and intensity of boxing week shoppers. I haven’t seen this much impatience, attitude, or disrespect all at once in a long time! Sure there are some shoppers who are too timid or scared to get in other people’s way but the majority of shoppers are quite the opposite. Maybe I’m losing some faith in humanity but I do hope there’s an upswing of attitude at the end of this story. If not, then may we all be saved from our own wrath in our own special way.
Well seeing as I’ll be going out tonight with my long-time high school friends for some pool tonight, I had to postpone my snooker night with dad to lastnight. I swear pool angles and snooker angles do not mix well! My “old man” beat me pretty bad at the start until I started adjusting to the snooker table. Before I could make the adjustment I wasn’t seeing any of the angles correctly! And then the coffee settled in… I started playing much better after a while and actually took a game away from pops after about four straight losses. It’s either I started getting better; my dad started getting tired, or both! Either way we still had some good laughs and the poolhall was quiet so we didn’t have much people to distract or get in our way when we were making a good run. I still have yet to pass my 49 point break. The only thing I see missing in my play is the lack of practice per week, but that obviously cannot be remedied with school and studies at top priority.

Not only was it an early snooker night but another early occurrence arriving soon is going back to school– on Wednesday! This break has been such a treat so far. Probably one of, if not the best breaks I’ve had since I could remember.
